    US Nationals Entry Requirements

    Valid Passport Required.
    * Passport must be signed
    * Over 6 months remaining validity
    * Two blank Visa pages available

    Effective December 06, 2016, photo submitted must meet the requirements as shown on the flyer. Application with noncompliant photos will not be processed.
    *Visa form must be TYPED using your computer and printed. Please be advised handwritten visa forms are no longer accepted at the embassy. A $30-$50 typing/preparation fee will be assessed if applications are received, handwritten and have to be submitted immediately. Please do not print the form on double sided pages.
    *Foreign-born US Citizens with NO entry-exit stamps or visas on their current US passports will also need to provide their last passport in order for their visa application to be accepted by the embassy.
    *Currently the embassy is not issuing visas in 2-3 days unless the applicant appears in person. Please plan your travel accordingly.

    Visa Requirements:

    • Photocopy of flight itinerary
    • Photocopy of the roundtrip airline ticket and hotel reservations OR
    An Invitation Letter
    *The Invitation letter (stamped with a circular seal) issued by a relevant entity or from an individual in China must state the following:
    A) Information of the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
    B) Information of the planned visit (arrival and departure dates, places(s) to be visited, etc..
    C) Information on the inviting entity or individual (name, contact telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative of the inviting individual ).

    Proof of Residence - Copy of Driver's License

    If Traveling on Business:
    • Documents on the commercial activity issued by a trade partner in China, or trade fair invitation or other invitation letters
    *The Invitation letter (stamped with a circular seal) issued by a relevant entity or individual in China must state the following:
    A) Information of the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
    B) Information of the planned visit (arrival and departure dates, places(s) to be visited, relations between the applicant and the inviting entity or individual, financial source for expenditures)
    C) Information on the inviting entity or individual (name, contact telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative of the inviting individual ).

    *Generally, the invitation letter (stamped with circular seal) may be submitted as a fax, copy or printout. However, if necessary, the consular officer will ask the applicant to submit the original invitation letter, provide supporting or supplementary documents or schedule an interview.
